HomeLink International Canada recognizes the importance to its members of the discreet and confidential handling of their personal information. It is HomeLink Canada’s policy to comply with the requirements of any applicable privacy legislation in all its activities involving the collection, use, disclosure and handling of personal information.
Collection of Personal Information HomeLink Canada collects personal information when you register with HomeLink Canada to exchange your home with other members of HomeLink International Association (“HLIA”). This information, along with your description of the home offered for exchange, is then published in the online electronic version of our HLIA directory. Use and Disclosure HomeLink Canada will not disclose your personal information to any third parties except to the following:

Your personal information may also be available for public viewing by visitors in a “Visitors” area of the Site. However, your contact details will not be on public display and are only available for viewing by other members in a secure “members only” area of the Site. You consent and agree to the use and disclosure of your personal information generally in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Data Quality Once your personal information is collected, HomeLink Canada then uploads that information to a central HLIA database which is maintained by HLIA. HomeLink Canada will take all reasonable steps to ensure that personal information that it holds about you is accurate, complete and up-to-date. Upon your registration with HomeLink Canada, it will provide a proof copy of your advertisement on the HLIA website. Changes are made only by you or at your request. Data Security Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet is totally secure. Accordingly, HomeLink Canada does not guarantee the security of any information which you transmit to it. Any information which you transmit to HomeLink Canada is transmitted at your own risk. However, once HomeLink Canada receives your transmission, HomeLink Canada will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss or unauthorized access. Openness On your request, HomeLink Canada will make known to you the types of personal information it holds about you, the purpose for which it is held and how it collects, holds and uses that information. To request access to your personal information, please contact HomeLink Canada at the address listed at the end of this Privacy Policy. Upon the completion of a home exchange, your exchange partner may submit an Exchange Evaluation either to their HomeLink registrar to be forwarded to us, or to HomeLink Canada directly. Upon receipt of an Exchange Evaluation about you, HomeLink Canada will promptly send you a complete exact copy. Changes to Privacy Policy This document is a summary of HomeLink Canada’s complete Privacy policy, which will be drawn up in the English language only. Translation of this summary will be provided only for your convenience. HomeLink Canada reserves the right to change the Privacy Policy from time to time by posting such changes on the Site. Changes will be effective immediately upon notification on the Site. Your continued use of the Site following notification will constitute your acceptance of those changes.
